About Web Design 1
Learning how to create dramatic and effective web sites by applying
digital design techniques will be the focus of this course. The Adobe Design Suite CS4 will be used which includes Dreamweaver,
Fireworks and Flash. Students will begin by creating pages using HTML
and then progress to fully functioning web sites. Students will learn
how to create and modify web graphics, create navigation bars, develop
logos and banners and create templates. Emphasis will be placed on
creating web sites that balance content and multimedia while
maintaining good web page design practices such as effective use of
white-space, load time and cross-browser compatibility. Websites
students will create include a car dealership, photographer and a law
firm as well as a website of their choosing. Intermediate computer
skills are a must as the entire course is conducted on the computer.
Successful completion of this course may earn you business credits at Baker College and Oakland Community College free of cost. |
